MBCR - "Putting Your Safety First"

At MBCR our number one priority is the safety of our passengers and employees. With the winter season upon us we would like to offer you a few safety tips and reminders:

A commuter train can be up to thirteen feet tall and weigh close to one million pounds. It has flashing lights and takes more than a half-mile to stop. Please stay out of its way.

The following Safety tips will provide you with the knowledge you need to remain safe when you are in close proximity or have the need to cross train tracks.

Always expect a train!

MBTA commuter rail trains operate seven days per week in 81 communities serving 132 stations and cross roadways at 260 locations. Each week 836 passenger trains operate and on many areas of the commuter rail network, additional Amtrak and freight trains are present as well. Trains can pass at any hour, not just during morning and evening commute times.

In addition to the regular service provided 7 days per week, MBTA Commuter rail also operates "extra" or "special" trains to include those for Patriots home games and Halloween service to Salem.

So, you can expect to see a train at any time on any track!
